We’d stood and watched Ty drive off on his cross-country trip back to Cally. Now the rest was up to us. We had to put things into motion and stop the greedy city officials from putting a halt to all the hard work and dreams that had so far been completed, not to mention all the money that Alex and Beau had invested.

“What’s the next steps?” Brent asks.

“What are you asking me for? I thought you were in charge,” I reply giggling.

Brent frowns and sighs. “It was worth a try. I have no idea where to go to start with. But for tonight, we should get some rest.”

“It’s only eight thirty,” I reply.

Brent smiles and raises his eyebrow at me. “I never mentioned anything about sleeping.”

We push closed the large iron gate behind us and walk through the archway. Bob waves at us through the window, and we head off back into our building. Brent puts his hands on my ass and squeezes my cheeks as we walk up the stairs.

“Give me a chance,” I say as I slap his hands away.

“Such a buzz-kill,” he replies as he gives me a big slap on the ass.

“When do you think we’ll be ready to open?” I ask.

“There’s a big fight on this weekend, so I think next weekend will be ideal, then we can give everyone a chance to know what they are doing,” Brent explains.

“That makes sense. I have the girls coming tomorrow, so they have plenty of time to practice. I just hope they are okay.”

“What do you know about them?” he asks.

I slip off my shoes. “Alice and Jemma have been at the bike club for over twelve months. Britney has been at the club the longest of the new three; she’s cool. The other two; Clare and Susan, I don’t know much about. I’m not even sure if Janey knows much about their past.”

“We should just keep an eye on them and make sure they are okay, you never know. They may get tempted to steal with the amount of cash that’s floating around,” Brent says.

“I will ask Janey to keep an eye on them,” I reply.

I watch Brent as he stretches himself in front of me. “Are you trying to tell me something?”

“You know, we are not resting yet?” he says.

I smile at him and pull at his belt. “Where do you want to rest then?” I ask. I raise an eyebrow.

“Hmm. We said we had the bathtub and the couch left, now the kitchen counter is out of the way,” Brent says.

“Boring.”

Brent looks around the room. He shakes his head and looks past me. His smile broadens. “How about the stairs?” he says.

“They will hurt my back!”

“There are plenty of ways on the stairs without hurting your back.” He grins at me wildly.

“Who is a horny fucker?” I ask. I laugh and look at his sexy stubble.

“I’m always horny when you’re around,” he replies as he pulls me to my feet.
